MSFN Organizational Setup

The Assembly of Partners

The Assembly is the highest decision-making organ of the MSFN. All partners who have duly paid their contributions for the year are automatic members of the Assembly. The Assembly is responsible for the election and removal of the Board of Trustees and Coordinating Committee (or any member thereof), as the case may be.

The Co-ordinating Committee(CC)

The Co-ordinating committee consists of Regional Representatives for each of the following designated regions:

  • NIGERIA
  • AFRICA (excluding Nigeria)
  • MIDDLE EAST(GULF STATES)
  • NORTH AMERICA (including USA, CANADA and the WEST INDIES)
  • EUROPE (Including UK, WESTERN EUROPE and EASTERN EUROPE)
  • SOUTH EAST ASIA.

The functions of the Co-ordinating Committee (CC) includes

  1. Carry out membership drive in their respective regions.
  2. Collection of contributions from partners in respective regions
  3. Assist the assembly of MSFN for smooth take off of scheme.
  4. Disburse funds to BOT on approval by Assembly of MSFN.
  5. Maintain database on list of contributors.
  6. Develop operational guidelines for selection of MSFN scholars.
  7. The approved guidelines shall be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for implementation.
  8. Act as liaison between the Board of Trustee and the Assembly of MSFN Partners.
  9. Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the MSFN Assembly of Partners.

The Board of Trustees (BOT)

The Board of Trustees consists of 7 members, at least 4 of whom must be living in Nigeria. Members of the Board of Trustees are elected amongst the MSFN Partners for a term of 2 years, renewable (for each Trustee) for a maximum period of 6 years. Members of the Board of Trustees elect a Chairperson and Secretary from amongst themselves.

The BOT is responsible for the day to day running of the MSFN in Nigeria, which includes:

  1. Preparation of annual budget.
  2. Selection and grant of loan to deserving Nigerian Muslim students and discontinuation of loan to those students who fail to meet the required minimum academic standards
  3. Organize fund-raising activities to support the objectives of the MSFN.
  4. Ensure that the account of the Fund is audited annually by the auditor appointed by the Assembly.
  5. Preparation of students' progress reports through the mentor system and submission annually to the Assembly.
  6. Other activities as may be deemed necessary by the Assembly.
